Sat June 29 2013 - Yishun Park / Bukit Timah Dairy Farm again

Something moving in the leaves.....

Long-tailed parakeet  friends nibbling the tiny fruits

I looked up trying to figure out who dislodged the fruits that came raining down

The slightly crested Yellow vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) - Perching on the branches and watching out for companions.

Closer Look...

Near Yishun MRT Exit. Spotted this bean plants under the Mahogany. Took this before it was weeded out.

In the afternoon we revisited the Dairy Farm Loop in BT. But this time we reversed our direction in the Dairy Farm Loop. Walking up the Rengas  and walking down the Jungle Fall.

Dairy Farm Loop - BT Reserve Sunday June 23 2013 - Haze PSI two digits only

Sunday June 23 2013  afternoon, the PSI index stayed within 2 digits and the sky looked great. We took bus 966 from Woodlands Bus Interchange and dropped off  one bus stop before reaching  Dairy Farm Road.  Car park B is just across the traffic light. After a short walk towards Wallace Education centre you will find the entrance to the Dairy Farm Loop - Bukit Timah Trails. Despite the dry and warm weather most of the trails are under the shade. The stairs are challenging for the first time goer and i recalled struggling in my last walk. Apart from the handful of monkey near the car park, little animals were seen in the entire trails ( Dairy Farm Loop-> Seraya Loop-> Jungle Fall Path ->Rengas trail -> straight Dairy Farm Loop and back to the Car Park A.

Concrete little hut.

Steps plenty of steps

Tree Top View ... revisited June 15 2013 .. Yishun park in the evening

My double Digi Nth visit's to the TTW! This time playing with my camera.

Nice weather day. I jumped into a cab after alighting from AMK MRT.  Venus's drive is just a few minutes away and I reached my destination 9:16am.
Birds were singing and a group of insects enthusiast were seen with their macro / flash light set up. Another groups with big mammoth zoom lens were hunting other target ( birds?)  As usual the runners were ever present weaving  through the slow moving TTW visitors.  A few monkeys sat at the road side watching the passer-by.

I spotted this bee hive... on Albizia ( Paraserianthes falcataria) tree

Close up of the masses of living bees!

Even closer looks of them

Now she sat still...
Many years ago i recalled chasing one collared kingfisher with a eos 20D.  I managed to get one. I was wondering whether i could bag one today. I did. Just before i left the park one blue jacketed kingfisher flew by. Sat on construction fences and with the x50 handy i can afford a closer look.
